WHO ARE WE AND WHO AM I?
Unique Collectibles (www.ucollect.com) was the URL for Walter's Gun Chamber, Inc.'s website. I started Walter’s in 1988 after retiring from 30 years of teaching during which time I concurrently operated as a part-time gun dealer out of my home. Walter’s Gun Chamber was located in the town of Parkville, Baltimore County, Maryland. On June 30, 2005, I closed Walter's Gun Chamber after 17 years in operation and 45 years in the gun business. We had grown to be the largest volume independent firearms dealer in Maryland for several years in a row before I closed down the shop. When the doors closed I had a customer base of over 25,000 happy gun guys and gals.
Instead of sitting around and watching Oprah on TV all day I have continued in the firearms business for over the 10 years since closing Walters. So, I have now been in the gun business since 1960 making it over 55 years in a row. My current operation is fourfold;
First, I currently operate an antique firearms business. I buy or accept antique guns on consignment and sell them on line through the GunsInternational.com website.
Secondly, I conduct appraisals on firearms and serve as a broker, buyer, and/or consignee of these firearms if requested to do so. My customer base consists of former customers of Walter’s as well as referrals from attorneys handing estates containing firearms. I’ve become known by the attorneys who give me referrals as the widow’s friend because I’m totally honest with the women as to the fair value and handling of their guns. I make sure they don’t get ripped off.
Thirdly, I work as an agent/consultant/buyer/consignee for a gun shop belonging to a friend of mine in Pennsylvania. All modern guns which we sell are shipped from my friend’s shop in PA under his Federal Firearms License (FFL) to federally licensed (FFL) dealers in the respective locales of the purchasers. The receiving FFL then transfers the firearms to the purchaser after conducting background checks under federal and their respective state and local laws.
Fourth and finally, I am selling off the bulk of my former 1000 plus private gun collection going through my PA dealer friend employing the procedures mentioned above. I’m down to a few hundred now. I DO NOT STORE THESE GUNS IN MY HOME.
I continue to maintain the total honesty, integrity, impeccable service, and 100% guarantee that the items we are selling are exactly as advertised as I did when I ran my shop.
I advertise as Maryland Arms Company on GunsInternational.com. I deal with GunsInternational because I don't have time to fool around and deal with auction sites. Also, because the owners of the site are good people and run a great professional site.
All items are guaranteed as advertised. If you are not satisfied with any purchase DO NOT REMOVE IT FROM THE DEALER'S SHOP. Repack it immediately, notify me by email that it is coming back, and ship it back via FedEx or UPS in the same condition received for a full, no questions asked, refund. In the OVER 55 years I've been in business I've literally gotten back less than a handful of items. Most of these few returned items were due to the buyers inexperience and/or lack of knowledge about the product in one way or another. And, to be fair, one or two were due to something I missed when examining the item. For the couple of items where I goofed, I returned shipping paid by the buyer in addition to the purchase price.
NOTE: DO NOT FIRE OR ATTEMPT TO FIRE ANY FIREARM YOU PURCHASE FROM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BY A COMPETENT GUNSMITH BEFORE DOING SO.
